Carnival Corporation has decades of experience with private destinations in the Bahamas:
Half Moon Cay (Holland America Line - 1996)
Princess Cays (Princess Cruises - 1991)
HAL and Princess were acquired by Carnival, while the beach calls served the individual lines. Eventually, some Carnival ships began calling at the ports as well.
Five Times The FUN
Carnival has been building on those experiences to create a FUN-themed destination of its own on Grand Bahama Island, east of Freeport on a remote strip of beach. The property is divided into Five Portals of FUN:
Paradise Plaza (main gateway) Starfish Lagoon (family area) Calypso Lagoon (adult area) Pearl Cove Beach Club (premium adult-only) Lokono Cove (retail village)
Where will YOU spend your time, and how will you indulge yourself?
Oh, and - by the way, Carnival is going to keep serving the various private beaches. In fact, some cruises will sail to Celebration Key and either Princess Cays or Half Moon.
